Pilates Level One
Pilates Level One is suited to both beginners and ongoing participants with lower flexibility and core strength levels. We still follow the 6 principles of Pilates, while practicing mostly the lower level exercise moves with elements of the higher level progressions. Combining these with simple stretches and mobilising exercises will help keep your body supple and ache free. So that your core will become stronger, your posture will improve, and you will have better mobility.
Pilates Level Two
Pilates Level Two progresses on from the level one exercises, requiring a higher range of movement and a good level of all over body strength. and flexibility. With continued mindfulness of the 6 Pilates principles, we place emphasis on strengthening your core and stretching to elongate your muscles. Progressions to all the original 34 moves are explored in this class. Through these exercises we proportionally balance the strength and flexibility of every joint to enable optimum movement.
Body Strong
This Body Strong class uses body weight moves and kettlebells (other weights can be used too) to build strength through your muscles and bones, while still focusing on good posture and form. These are interspersed with cardio intervals to raise your heart rate, aid the highest calorie burn and result in a toned and defined body. Body Strong is a full body workout designed to increase all over strength, trim and tone your muscles, increase bone density and core strength.
Dancefit
In contrast to the controlled Pilates sessions, Dancefit is a dance inspired cardio class filled with fitness squats & jacks! These dance moves are kept simple to maximise cardio improvements while the impact moves (low & high) strengthen your bones. In addition, dance is a great form of exercise as it moves your whole body in every way possible, mobilising all of your joints. The co-ordination aspect strengthens your neuro muscular pathways, improving both your balance and spatial awareness. An extra bonus is that dancing reduces cortisol levels making us feel happy and relaxed! Shimmy, shake and mambo your way to a better body, brighter brain and bigger smile.
Why Zoom?
The weekly online session are continuing live through Zoom. Participating in live zoom sessions acts well for exercise accountability. As the teacher is watching you! And checking that you complete all the exercises! Also, the visual supervision from the teacher will help guide you. You will be given technique advise and optional exercise if needed. They will then use their observations as feedback to help add to the program development. Alternatively, there is an On Demand replay available through a private You Tube link. This is available for one week following the live Zoom. This On Demand session is useful if the Zoom time is unsuitable, or you want to repeat the session daily! The link is sent via a weekly email, which is also available if you miss your live zoom. Many people are enjoying the flexibility of this choice.
If you are new to Pilates, you might benefit from practicing with the ‘The Principle Sessions’ download series before joining a class.
