For general exercise doing the type of exercise you enjoy will be the best way to keep you motivated for consistency, which is what will give you results. For post natal, a fully guided specialist post natal exercise program will be most beneficial for both your body and mind. Pregnancy and childbirth is probably the most traumatic event your mid-section will experience, so it is good to take the time to recover and rehabilitate properly. During pregnancy hormone levels change to allow movement through the pelvis to allow for the baby’s growth and birth, this affects all joints in your body including your lumbar spine, pelvis (sacroiliac joints) and hips, these are the weaker area many women suffer with longer term problems. Rather than worrying about ‘losing the baby weight and getting back into your jeans’ Alento’s approach is concerned with strengthening your pelvic floor, your abdominals, your lower back and your hips giving you a strong and stable core. Fortunately working out on the Reformer improves all of the above strengthening your body a little more every time you use it. As we work these core muscles, you will begin feeling stronger in both body and mind, and burning calories will be a fabulous bonus.
