The Seated Series

The Seated Series is a group of 4 mini sessions are available through a You Tube link for continued home use, the exercises are all completed while sitting on a chair so they are great if you are short on space! They are also perfect if you have limited mobility or unsteady balance, or they are a nice workout if you simply fancy a little difference in your routine.

The Seated Series

Seated Pilates 1

The first mini video in the Seated Series is a gentle Pilates top to toe mobility and stretching session. These small movements can help with big improvements to your joint mobility which in turn improves posture, general wellbeing along with back and core strength. Accompany this with some Pilates controlled breathing and by the end you will feel relaxed and loosened.

Seated Pilates 2

The second mini video in the Seated Series is another gentle Pilates flow session, again working through spine mobility and core strength improvements. Spinal twists/rotation, side bends/lateral flexion, forward flexion and backward extension moves are all included. Breath slowly as each exercise flows into the next through this choreographed and relaxing routine.

Seated Strength

The third video in the Seated Series is a strength session using handheld weights, these can be any small weights you have at home or an alternative found in the kitchen such as a food can, water bottle or another easy to hold smooth object. You will be gaining arm, shoulder and upper body strength relative to the weight you use. It is also good to know while you are sitting your core will be engaged as you sit tall and steady.

Seated Cardio

The fourth and final video in the Seated Series is a fun cardio session, still with your bottom on the chair you will be moving your feet and arms in time to some disco music. It is a fun and easy session but the bigger you make the moves the more your heart rate will increase. Your core will be engaged as you stay firmly in the seat as long as you lift through your spine, so sit tall and draw in through your stomach from start to finish!
